Yale School of Music
Department of Music - Yale University
BA/MM Program
The Bachelor of Arts/Master of Music program is designed for outstanding instrumentalists who are also interested in a liberal arts education. Admission to the B.A./M.M. program is through acceptance into Yale College as well as a separate, successful audition through the School of Music, either before matriculation into Yale College or after the third year of the undergraduate program. Please note that the B.A./M.M. program is not open to vocalists, composers, or conductors.
The five-year combined B.A/M.M. degree program is open to both music and non-music majors, and to those who would like to pursue a B.S. instead of a B.A.
Yale School of Music is a tuition-free school. While B.A./M.M. students are enrolled in Yale College, they incur no additional costs beyond those associated with attendance at Yale College. In the fifth year of the program, students are responsible only for personal living expenses and things such as travel, books, and instrument upkeep.
