Keyboard Audition Information

PIANO AUDITIONS

STEP 1: PRESCREENING

A prescreening VIDEO submitted to Acceptd, app.getacceptd.com/kumusic is required for all graduate programs in Piano (Graduate Certificate in Music Performance, MM or DMA). Students must submit a 30minute audition of their performances of:

  1. The first movement of a Classical sonata
  2. A major Romantic work
  3. Other works of the applicant’s choice.

The video does not have to be professional quality, but should be a clear and accurate representation of your playing. Poor sound quality will lessen your chances of admission.

Once you have passed the pre-screening, you will be invited to sign up for a live audition.

STEP 2: SIGN UP

Contact the faculty member listed below to schedule your audition.

STEP 3: PREPARE

Audition Requirements found below.

STEP 4: AUDITION

Complete a live audition on the date you selected! (If unable to attend a live audition, we will accept a video audition via the Acceptd website).

  1. A complete multimovement sonata by a Classical composer, up to and including Schubert
  2. A major Romantic work
  3. A virtuoso etude.

The piano division requires that any auditions provided electronically through Acceptd must be a continuously filmed video.

Please do not submit an edited version or a composite of more than one video. For more information, contact the faculty member listed below.
