  • One Milde Concert Study or equivalent etude
  • A work composed in the last fifty years
  • A minimum of four contrasting standard orchestral excerpts

The total length of a live audition is 15 minutes. Piano accompaniment is not required however if you wish to use a pianist, bassoon professor Saxton Rose can supply the names and contact information for pianists in the area. UNCSA cannot provide accompanists.

A live audition is strongly recommended and required for consideration for the Teaching Assistant position, however students who are unable to travel to Winston-Salem may submit a high-quality video audition. Repertoire requirements are the same as that of a live audition.

Applicants should upload the video to an online service such as YouTube or Vimeo and submit the link to Saxton Rose at roses@uncsa.edu.
