Woodwind Audition Information

 

 

 

Woodwind (MM & DMA)

 

Admission to the program of study for the MA (woodwind pedagogy), MM (woodwind performance), and DMA (woodwind performance) degrees will be determined by an audition committee on the basis of the applicant's ability to demonstrate sufficient performing ability to fulfill the requirements of the degree program.

 

Audition Requirements

 

  1. Submit a biographical statement and repertoire list.
  2. The audition must include the following (memorization is not required):

 

n  Two (2) complete solo pieces (i.e. concerto, sonata, French conservatory piece), from contrasting style periods. Accompanist not required. 

n  At least six (6) orchestral excerpts demonstrating knowledge of standard literature.

l  Friday, December 7, 2018 

l  Friday, January 11, 2019 (NO saxophone auditions on this date) 

l  Saturday, January 12, 2019 (NO saxophone or clarinet auditions on this date) 

l  Friday, January 18, 2019 

l  Saturday, January 19, 2019 

l  Friday, February 1, 2019 (NO saxophone auditions on this date)
