Undergraduate University Application does not require an essay.

Undergraduate School of Music Application requires two essays:

• Compose an essay describing your career goals and aspirations as they relate to a degree in music. Your essay could include information about your experiences, your musical role models and/or what has led you to music. If you are pursuing music education, describe your motivations for becoming a music teacher and what makes you well suited to the profession. (500 word limit)
• Why have you selected Northern Illinois University for your application and School of Music audition?
